The Droid was released.

Google’s Android made its way into the market through T-Mobile G1. Is it a iPhone killer ? Is it a Windows Mobile killer ? How promising is it ? Yeah, we have several questions revolving in our head and we have several blog posts making rounds in the blogosphere (yes, including this one).
I did not see the phone, I read through several blogs and here I am writing my opinions. All the blog’s that I read are listed below. Did I mention, while Google’s Android is ready to make a wave, Apple Imposes NDA For App Store Rejections. Interesting move isn’t it ?
Being a open source implementation will give Android a huge application base. Just wait and see to find a huge growing number of applications. A couple of blogs mentioned that Android is fast. Who doesent like faster devices ? Android is not going to be a one size fits all type. Several low end and high end models will be released.
Although T-Mobile G1 did not have all the features of iPhone, there is a huge scope for releasing another mobile with all the missing features. As the application base increases the chances for Android to succeed get improved. Finally in my opinion T-Mobile G1 may not be a iPhone killer but it definitely grabs market attention and the future looks bright.

Google Search Trends J2EE vs ASP.Net

Google Search Trends J2EE vs ASP.Net

I searched in google trends for ‘j2ee, asp.net’ and results were astonishing, with asp.net being the highest searched term, there was never a single instance when asp.net had lesser search results. What could this mean ???

Keeping that aside the next most interesting is:
India is the country which ranks top in searching for these terms. No its not just a little more than others. From the graph you can infer that out of the top 10 countries, summing up the rest of 9 countries does not match up India alone.

Next do you know the top 5 cities from where searches originated ?? All 5 are in India.

1. Bangalore, India
2. Hyderabad, India
3. Chennai, India
4. Mumbai, India
5. Delhi, India

So if Search Engines are down for a single day, will development in India come to a halt ???

Why I like Google Reader

I had been using Google Reader for more than 1.5 years, I summed up some tips and tricks, some which I really really recommend. I will be telling you these tips shortly:

Well first of all what is Google reader ??? A Web Based RSS Reader, you can subscribe to your favourite feeds and view them using google reader. It has a nice interface for accessing from mobiles too. You can star, tag, share and email your articles. Once you start using it, you would simply love it. I started with Google Reader and I didnt want to change to any other web based readers.

With google reader you can star articles, tag them, share them, send by email, add clippings to your website. Google reader also provides a customized version for mobiles so that you can read your articles on the go.
Google reader provides various shortcuts also, my favourites are:

j/k - next/prev item.
space - next item / page
s - star item
shift + s - share item
v - view original

Google reader suggests additional feeds based on your subscriptions so discover more feeds of your interest. And finally Google gears is used with Google reader, so read your articles in offline mode also.

Final verdict: Give it a try.
